Photodynamic therapy

Photodynamic therapy is a dermatological treatment used to treat actinic keratoses, precancerous skin lesions linked to chronic sun exposure. This technique selectively targets and destroys abnormal cells while preserving healthy tissue, with an excellent aesthetic result.

The treatment

Actinic keratoses generally appear as rough pink or red patches on the areas most exposed to UV rays, such as the face, scalp, forearms or hands. Although they are often subtle, they can develop into squamous cell carcinoma if left untreated, hence the importance of early care.

While awaiting
the results

After the treatment

After the session, the skin may show redness, slight inflammation or superficial crusting for a few days. Peeling may also appear while the skin regenerates.

It is important to avoid any sun exposure for at least 48 hours after the treatment. Results are generally visible within two to three weeks, with an improvement in skin texture. Depending on the extent of the lesions, one to two sessions may be necessary.
